Growing up in the 80s, even the 90s, you’d be no stranger to anti-drug propaganda. Filled with embellishments, hyperbole, and straight up lies intended to make drugs a feared and binary topic.

If you haven’t seen these, you might be surprised, even amused. In the interest of extending the internet’s preservation of history as it was, not as it’s retold I wanted to make it available.

So here’s your snapshot into 1989, reprinted from an article in Boys Life (Boy Scouts of America monthly periodical) as a handout to cub scouts.
