I just installed 4 new DDR 400 modules in my PC in order to get Dual Channel 400mhz. I ended up reading these particular GEIL value brands are rather good at Overclocking, especially for a value brand, so I gave it a shot.

When I put them in my A8N-SLi Deluxe motherboard I get 2024mb installed memory and 1792mb usable memory. I’m thinking I got the dual channel mixed, put one module in the wrong pair? Or maybe it deducts 256mb for managing the Dual Channel? I’m not sure, but I’ll experiement more.

I changed because I was using two mismatched Kingston HyperX running at different clocks, so I had to clock them both down to 333mhz. I figured regardless I’d get better speed out of true DDR400 matched, and I get better performance, went up like 400 points on 3DMark06 but with slightly less then 2G of RAM.
