I saw Fever Pitch on Saturday night. It was pretty good. I thought they both did a really good job, it came off as very down to earth, realistic… and a shining example of a Red Sox fan. They’re not both avid fans as they first lead you to believe, but they both gain eachother’s point of view as the movie goes along. The very epitome of a give and take relationship, they both balance the needs of the other with their own to try and find a middle ground. It was a little sad at times, but it was well told and it’s nice to see the Farelly brothers doing something not so predictible. Write what you know, and you know “home”. RI is close enough 😉
I went to see my Mom for mother’s day. I woke up early on Sunday morning and drove 3 hours to catch her right after church. She didn’t know I was coming, and even cried a little thinking I had maybe forgot about her. My brother was bringing her out to brunch, so I tagged along. It was a pleasant day. I took a nap when we got back to Mom’s and then my sister Kelly and her family came over. They all helped plant a new garden for her and I did some computer work. When work was done I grabbed the frisbee from my car and the nieces and nephews joined me for some relaxing frisbee outside. It was a little chilly, but nice one you got moving a little bit. I’d say it’s probobly the most that I’ve bonded with my nieces and nephews since they got older then 7. It was nice, not having to worry about things to talk about, and just to keep throwing the frisbee around. We must have kept at it for like 2 hours or so. They eventually left, I had some soup, and was on my way home again, another 3 hours home. Luckily there were a couple good rabbits the whole way down, so I cut about 45 min from the total trek.
So the weekend was busy, especially with all the driving on Sunday, but it was nice and it was probably the best thing I could have gotten my Mother for Mother’s Day.

Man’s car is towed due to Chrystler’s new parking policy, tow truck driver joins in protest.
I’m using the internet too much at work. I don’t know if it’s hits to the websense “blocked” page, or if I’ve been seen surfing, but they know! I’m normally pretty good about it, I’ll check FARK for like 5-10 min twice a day (other then lunch) but guess I can’t even do that. I’ve been spending the time being productive. I’m trying to modify the current chat program to work kind of like AIM, keeping track of users and allowing private messages to be sent by double clicking on the usernames.
It’s not a bad thing, I just didn’t think it hurt anyone — but might as well, I’m here to work, they’re compensating me fairly, and thus I will do as much work as I can do.
I went to Jamie’s birthday party last night in Northampton. I got there a little early so I walked around. I checked out Yes computers (Mac computer store) and then hung at the Tunnel Bar where I knew I could get a good conac. I decided on the “Napoleon” and it was delightful. Conac is a high like no other, the taste, the flavor, the fact that the tiniest sip enflames the tastebuds… it’s good stuff.
I met a writer while I was there, possibly 35 to 40. She may be reading this now, I gave her links to some blogs. She’s written children’s books, is going to be doing a screen play this summer…
She seemed very interested in whatever I had to say, and I kept it pretty simple — I was nicely tanned by the drink, didn’t want to try and get all wordy and fall over myself =]
It was a nice chat, but dinner awaited so I excused myself once my drink was finished and was on my way.
We waited 2 hours for a table at Northampton Brew Company, when we were finally seated it was another hour for food. They gave us the drinks off the check due to our waiting so long for everything… but pretty much everyone went to the bar to get their drinks because the service was so slow, so I think I may have gotten a free drink, maybe 2, hell — I can’t even remember eating my food, so what do I know?
It was fun, went right home, crawled into bed, and then crawled out of bed and noticed my furniture was sitting in the hall. Why?? I left you a message saying I’d be home late, why choose today to take them out of your room. I said I would need his help, and yet he has them sitting there in the middle of everything. So of course with my personality being how it is, I had to do it right then. I made a bunch of noise, but I tried to do my best — Dan finally came out of his room and helped me towards the end. I just didn’t know why he had to do it then, and couldn’t just wait another day or so for me to be around.
Whatever, it’s out of there, and all my stuff is surrounding me in my room.
I can’t wait to unload the stuff I’m worried about to Nicole’s apartment, it’ll be a load off my mind to know that the stuff is safe.
So that’s it for now, hoping to go out with Jamie and friends on Saturday night, need to check with Nicole, make sure she can go this time. =]
