So… I’ve been working here at Travelers for about a month and a half now.
I just was offered a job with Application Development. It consists of a little programming, some script editing, but mainly creating software solutions for the company. I shall be in charge of researching various software programs, when we can’t make our own, purchasing those that fit our needs, and adapting them to the company’s existing software solution(s).
I’m starting on Monday, while still working the weekends until they find a replacement.
I can’t believe it, I’m at a loss at what to say. All I could say was “Thank you” when he offered me the job. I have a real job, and change made it all possible! If I never got laid off I wouldn’t have retrained, I wouldn’t have gotten the contract jobs doing networking, and wouldn’t have gotten a referral to Travelers from CTC. So everything happens for a reason, and everything seems to be falling into place.
Now to read up on all these newfangled commercial servers and software solutions!
