I wanted to possibly sell shares in this machine, possibly a time-share of sorts.
I’m looking at:
3-4ghz AMD 64 w/ 1600mhz System Bus
1-2GB Dual Channel DDR @ 400-800mhz
2 PCI-Express Video Cards, yes, 2 — working together in Dual-Mode
2 x 80gig SATA Hard Drives running RAID 0: Striping
This will result in the fastest gaming machine ever!
$200-300 for the chip
$150 for the motherboard
$200-400 for the memory
$100-200ea for the video cards (I prefer nVidia, but I’m willing to try ATI at someone else’s request)
$100 for the hard drives
$100 for the case (which I already have)
So we’re looking at:
$800-1000 for the best gaming machine ever.
I want to build this, need to build this… but can’t afford it.
