>I could have had a job today (for Fleet) — but I’m not going to cow-tow. I can’t go out to Boston with only 4 hours notice. Granted: there’s nothing going on today, but there could be. I am still recovering from being sick, so it’s just as well I don’t go out there. I guess the jobs are on a day to day basis now? I don’t like that, and was hoping that not being available tonight might just force him into planning ahead. I need work, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna jump through hoops when they can’t even tell me if there will be work from one day to the next.

He told me to call tomorrow morning. I can do that, be ready to head out there if need be, and take any available work from here on. I just need to make sure I don’t wear myself down too much.

I got up nice and early today, after getting a good rest. I feel pretty good, still not 100%. I’m hungry, there’s no real food in the house (that’s mine), and I just barely put money in the bank where I’d be able to buy some.

The thermostat came today, I hooked it up — no problems. It was rather easy. I was expecting voltage wires and who knows what… but it runs on AA batteries and since it’s heat-only there were only 2 wires. This particular model can control a fan and cooling unit as well. I don’t need those capabilities, but it was the one of the only ones that supported gas heat, so I took what I could get.
