>We got to NH about 9 or so, and got where we were going – NH State Forest, about 10:30.

By 11 my tent was set up and I was relaxing by the fire.

We woke early, made some eggs, bacon, various other snacks for breakfast, and headed off to go hiking up Mt Sugarloaf.

We decided we’d bring some beers and meat to cook, along with the stove, and a few packs worth of supplies. Justin, Aaron and I were heading the pack, we carried a lot of the stuff to start, so we could pass it back later on. At one point we were running up the mountain, vaulting from rock to rock I shimmied up the “rock steps” section.

At the top we relaxed for a bit, cracked open a few beers, and enjoyed the view. We started the grill, made up some meat, and chilled. A few other people climbed to the top behind us, a few gave us a weird look but we weren’t really in their way. We were a bad example to their children, however — our mountain too, beeeauch!

After running up, cooking, eating & drinking at the top, then running down I felt like I could do anything. I wanted to run more. I wanted to do more! We stopped back at the camp, it had rained a little so we warmed up by the fire and finished pumping up the boat. We then headed down to the river after we ate some more hamburgers.

A little 8 foot Coleman raft, we had 3 people on it at one point. We’d run down a couple hundred foot section of pretty good rapids, bouncing off the rocks, bracing ourselves for the quick turns and bucks. I went down a couple times, everyone took at least a turn. It was a lot of fun, it was kind of dangerous but not enough to really worry about it.

It started to rain shortly after, everyone retired to their tent, but in most cases they had someone to retire with. Justin and I stayed up and hung out for a while until I went to bed shortly after everyone else was waking up from their naps. =]

They continued to play asshole a bit more, not sure what time everyone got to bed, but apparently Justin wasn’t the last one up either because come morning, 9 am to be exact, we were awoken.

The ranger stopped by and had some citations for us. There was trash on the ground, trash in the fire, food left out, and various other items. It could have been $250 + $100 + $200 or something ridiculous like that, but we ended up getting out of it with a $50 fine. Split 8 ways it wasn’t too bad. We all chipped in, about $5 a piece — well worth the price of a camp site for the weekend.

We stopped by Hampton Beach on the way back for an hour or so, hung out, caught some rays, played some frisbee.

I even saw my first example of sexual harassment towards a male by females. Aaron, Justin’s stacked younger brother was shirtless (as one should be at the beach) and tossing the frisbee when I heard someone shouting: “We like the top, now show us the bottom!” as the car full of girls cruised by.

My jaw dropped, had never seen that happen before 😉 Amazing.
