Working with subnetting and binary conversion tends to get the brain cells working…

Here’s an idea I had for a Tech site when I get a minute:



Its a rectangle, with a different OS in each corner – broken up into smaller sections possibly? Click on a section and a box pops up in the middle with an X to close it, the arrows are just kind of decoration and continuity drawing your eye to the center where the box will appear.

There are icons in each section, start menu for windows, big dos prompt, unix prompt, and penguin, fedora, and red hat. =]

I might put DOS in the lower right so the arrow points to Windows, then UNIX in the lower left so the arrow points to Linux.

Brain joooooooce gooooooood, I love it.

Anyone have a javascript to allow moving the boxes around? I had it on my old site, but unfortunately I cheated and used the function built into GoLive. It created a mishmash of impossible-to-read machine code that worked, but went kablooie if you attempted to add any other scripts, etc.

It would be nice for this because you could open multiple “windows” each with an iFrame and the content for the particular OS — not really as functional as it is nifty 😉
