I heard the commercial on the radio, get a big mac, get a free download. Well sure, I’m game. I downloaded Sony’s “Connect” software (connect.com) and entered the code. The software is about 8 different modules all working together to make sure you are downloading and playing legitimately. I have the software running in the background and after being unable to “readily” burn a MP3 CD (I’m out of CD-Rs, and it doesn’t seem to recognize my burner), I have resorted to outright piracy.

Yes you heard me correctly. I’m playing the song via the super-secret SonicStage player, and recording via the recording program that came with my soundcard. I’ll then take the newly recorded WAV and encode it to MP3 using iTunes with no signal loss. At the very least I may need to adjust the volumes so there is no distortion, but other then that I’ve got a straight digital copy without it ever leaving my computer.

A person used to have to have all sorts of sound equipment and wires in order to do this. =]
