>I’ve been horribly sick the past few days. I’ll stop short of saying it’s the flu, but if it’s not it’s damn close. Aching, cold sweats, coughing and general nastyness — it’s been fairly sucky to say the least.
I don’t want to say it’s the flu because I’ve refused to get a flu shot — under the assumption that I’ll end up getting the flu sooner then it’ll prevent it.
At any rate I’ve stayed home, no school, no work. At least I’ve caught up on my DVD viewing 😉 I feel very loved too, as I’ve had several friends stop by with various sickness provisions. Cough syrup, soup, bread, juice… things I needed but wasn’t about to go out and get.
It snowed a lot today, so I was worried about shoveling — but ended up having 3 separate people ring the door bell throughout the day looking to shovel/snowblow for money. I went with one young man: Ricky. It’s hard to tell nowadays, his demeanor showed he was younger, maybe 17 max — but otherwise he could have passed for someone my age. He was only asking $10, and for the walk and driveway, that’s not bad. I didn’t ask how much the guys with the snowblower wanted. He ended up doing a really good job, Scott kicked in $5 too, so I ended up giving him $15.
Not bad for an hours work.
So here I am, hopped up on cold medicine, psudoephedrine pumping through my veins. Watching more TV with a kitty on my lap. I hope I’ll work through this soon — with maybe a day of crapiness ahead… possibly 2. I hate being sick, it’s so unproductive… and I end up losing weight I can’t afford to lose =]
I haven’t even been able to play video games, whats up with that?!
…now back to TV watching and kitty petting.
