>So what did I do this weekend? Good question.

I just stayed home, played video games, drank some beers, and hung out with friends. My internet connection at home is kaput until I can get either a phone line re-activated at the house, or a cable modem of my own. Ken de-activated his phone, which means I can’t sync the satellite. It’s 2-way but it needs an initial dial up connection to get it going. No such luck now, and I think it’s like $60 to get a phone installed. I don’t want any more monthly bills! No more!

Ken gave his notice – June 1st he should be out. I’m hoping to rent the smaller rooms out for $275 including utilities, and the big room upstairs for $300. That way no one has to worry about paying utilities, it’s the same each month, and I day to collect vs 3 or 4 — whenever the various bills arrive. I might have to ask for a little extra during the tough winter months. $400 a month for gas is not my idea of a good time – especially when you’re just trying to keep warm!

Some horny bastard ordered porn at 7am after my birthday party. I got the bill yesterday and there it was – a $12 charge for porn staring me right in the face. What’s that?!! C’mon… I know that no one in the house would have ordered it – everyone is too resourceful for that. I’ve questioned a few people, but porn always has a way of just ordering itself – odd.

COBOL doesn’t seem to be going all that well — struggling with the program I was on resulted in me finally finding what was wrong – only to find I had the tip of the iceberg. There was a whole bunch of calculating and if… then statements to do… which didn’t want to work once I wrote them. I’m going to try and get in there early for short session with the professor, but I might just quit while I can, grab a W and take it next time. I’ve at least got a start in it — I hate to waste the time, but if I’m getting a D so far… it’s not worth the hit to my already weak GPA. If I don’t find the magic lightbulb by tomorrow – as in I’m not able to get the concept and proceed with the other programs, I’ll throw in my hat and sit out the remainder. I still want to finish the programs, that way I’ll at least be ahead of the game when I take it again.

My car’s in the shop — getting the vicious dent out of it!!! It wasn’t my fault… no deductible, but he couldn’t have hit me in a better spot, or a worse spot. It was right in the rear left quarter panel — 4Runner scooted into my lane just a bit… *blam*! It wasn’t too hard as we were coming up on a stop light – damn little guy couldn’t even see over the steering wheel. .:sigh:. It was a bad place, but it wasn’t all that severe, marginal scratching – small dent. My options were to either cut the piece out and weld a new piece over it… or pull out the dent and cover any recesses. Considering the structural integrity would be nil if I had them cut it, I chose to have it pulled. It should look just as good, and still retain it’s rigidness.

They’re going to do all the measurements to ensure it’s not out of alignment due to the impact, and they’ve got the special paint direct from the factory to make sure it all matches up – so we’ll see what happens. I ought to have it back by Thursday.

Commerce gave me a pretty good settlement – (they better, it’s off of the other guy’s insurance) – and they had a quick turn-around, about a week. Besides demanding an absurd amount of money from me to start my insurance policy — they seem OK so far.

So there’s some stuff on my head, school’s coming to an end. I’ve got a pretty good grapple on the other 2 classes, so I should be OK there. I just need to stay sane… things will slow down once I’m out of school – and maybe revert to some semblance of normality. I keep trying to gear things up with the computer biz, would be nice to have a little extra income… and it’s something I enjoy doing. I especially enjoy setting someone up with their dream system — really showing them the difference between a custom machine and the pre-fab crapshoots.

I’m really looking forward to being right next to the park. It’s so beautiful there in the summer. It’s worth putting up with the winter months to get such beautiful summers. I think that’s why everyone says how they’re getting out of this place every winter, but end up sticking around indefinitly. They just can’t stand to leave the summer and fall.

Speaking of winter… it’s supposed to be 72 here tomorrow — then rain to sleet in the evening when it falls down to 30-40 degrees. Sheesh!
