>There will probably be a lot of people who have the same thing to say about Rodney Dangerfield: no respect, I tell ya.
The greatest interview I ever heard was Howard Stern and Rodney, I learned a lot about the guy… and he really didn’t get any respect, it wasn’t just an act — he worked with his life experiences.
He was an artist, same as many other comics. He got to live out his life (for the most part), where many burn out and go pop. There’s a pressure to always be funny, a lot of people can’t handle it… Chris Farley just blew his heart up, most drink themselves into a coma. I’m not sure if he was the last classic comic, but he was one of the last.
Maybe they’ll be some sort of revival, or tribute on Comedy Central. I hope so, the guy deserves it.
Ladybugs — probably his finest work, adding it to my Netflix =]
I’m freezing. The heat is just starting to come on. I got home about 7:30 this morning to a heater that was all out of water (steam heat, manual water control). Gutter had broken the thermostat when he helped move Allison in, said he’d replace it that week… and nothing, asked him about it… still nothing. Broken promises!
At any rate I just ordered one, all programmable and all that from Thermosource.com. They have really good prices, if you’re in need of a new thermostat, and able to spend the little bit extra to go digital it’ll save you in heating costs… and ensure a nice toasty home in the morning =]
…and “Thermostat” by They Might Be Giants just came on, how appropriate.
