>I just got back from VT. It was a good time.

I stayed with my Mom and got to see the nieces and nephews, and sister. and went kayaking on Saturday with my brother down the Lamoile River in Fairfax VT. It was about a 4 mile stretch, and the river was high. It was a great time. =]

We stopped by the church in Fletcher, climbed to the top inside and wound the church clock. A masterful piece of machinery – it was probably from the 1800s and had a separate windup for the clock and for the chime. I wound up the weight for the bell, a large wooden rectangle full of rocks and brick from long ago and added my name to the ranks of clock-winders, some from as long ago as 1915 that we could see.

The giant Phish show was going on this weekend. 70,000 were on the permit, 32,000 got there before they started turning everyone away — ticket or no. There was mud, lots of mud… the evening news was hurricane and phish show, accidents and phish show, phish show and weather. =]~ It’s amazing how little happens up there, it’s so different.

I’m hoping to head back up in a couple weeks to check out a camping site only accessible by kayak. =]
