>Everyone seems to be raving about the “new 20s“, I’ve heard about it all over the place. I first saw it mentioned on The Daily Show of all places, then saw the commercial they were speaking of.
I bought something on Friday — the new $20 was the most exciting thing the two clerks had ever come across. I was expecting a “well shuckee durn dare” any second. Tonight at GAP, it was again… a very enthusiastic topic of discussion, and again at the sports bar where I stopped in after work to grab a drink (and check up on the Yankees and their doomed-ness!).
Again in a request to see America wake up and stop being so pompous and head-in-the-sand-ish and realize we don’t set the pace for the world, please try not to act so surprised about this stuff.
It’s not a new idea — but is “well — they’ll never be able to counterfeit that” really necessary? Maybe I’m just not that easily excited? Maybe next time the president should just come on TV holding the bill for a close-up – “Behold America — YOUR NEW 20!!!”. It just doesn’t look good to the other countries 😉
