>I have to think of a new music page format, might just put up a list of the few “song blogs” that I have. One for rock, one for techno, and I’ll eventually have one for hiphop – though hard coding it has worked so far. I have to be able to listen to a song a lot without it losing its novelty for it to make the list(s), and hiphop can lose it quite quickly. There are a few from 1999-2001 that remain my staples, still others that I’m absolutely sick of but haven’t made it out of my collection yet. Usually I just rate them lower once I get sick of them and that’s enough to not hear them.

Musicmatch and iTunes both support rating tracks, which is one of the greatest inventions ever. I can make a playlist that excludes any lower-rated tracks and include any that I haven’t rated… just so I don’t miss any. iTunes goes a step further to allow me to create a smart playlist – one that updates in real time as I rate/play tracks.

EX: I can create a playlist < 700mb (to fit on an MP3 cd) that has all my top-rated tracks, or the newest tracks, or the most/least played tracks... it’s so flexible! =]

I wish I was home, could be fixing my network… making pretty graphics for the site… or even being outside — no, wait – it’s raining again… so scratch that.

I’d normally post on the music page, I guess under rock. I hate catagorizing music… it’s so… open. Guitar = Rock so that makes it easy enough, I suppose. That is, unless it’s synthesized… then that would be New Wave 😉
