>I’ll just change the name of this thing to The Sad Cat Blog.
No good news regarding Franna. I brought her home today, but she’s still sick. They gave me the option of a feeding tube – putting a hole in her neck, then sliding the food right down into her belly — “uh… no thanks”
I’m not going to keep my cat alive if there’s obviously something wrong with her enough that she can’t eat, can’t drink… I tried just dropping water on her nose, she licked it off… that only worked for so long. I can’t get her to eat anything good… not even nice boiled chicken and rice. I had some beef too… usually she’s all over me for anything I’ve got — it’s so sad to see her like this.
She doesn’t get up… and when she does, it’s usually to puke. I’ve kept her in my room, door closed to keep the other cat out. I’ve got everything she might need right there. I haven’t seen her eat, I have seen her near the water… but have yet to see her drink. She’s using the box… so she must be drinking something. I’m just so at a loss for things to do.
I had them do the extra tests – X-rays and ultrasound, at their behest… and they still couldn’t tell me what was wrong with her. The most likely scenario, as she’s had stomach trouble in the past is an ulcer. Of course they can’t say for sure if it is or not. All the blood work prior came out to nothing… can’t believe I’ve done this much for a cat. My parents always had this philosophy that if the cat had to go to the vet with anything more then getting shots… it was just the cat’s time.
I don’t want to let her go, but I also know that if she’s really sick… then she will either pull through on her own with my support, or she’ll die happy at home, snuggled up… I can only hope it goes that well. I’m so sad for my kitty. I love my Franna… but just feel like there’s nothing I can do. I’m hoping, other’s are hoping… I just hate having to fill people in on her status when it’s not better.
So that’s my Sad Cat Blog.
