Going back in time…

I once had a whole archive of everything I had ever typed to my blog. I lost it in an unfortunate disk accident with my hosting provider. I never did get it back since much of it was never pulled into Blogger’s servers. Once they converted to the new template everything pulled and I was able to import that here, but that still only brought me back to 2008. I had set up Synthetic-X.com in 2001 – October, probably about now. There was a lot going on in my head after 9/11 – but I wanted to wait long enough…

Working Out Web Kinks

This is a new post to sit at the top of the page – wasn’t sure if I got this working again or not – in any case I’m going to try and parooze my facebook status to find some fill ins… way too much time has passed and this will be a large hole in my site. Hurt my left hand playing softball on Friday – work tomorrow ought to be interesting. this weekend got to go boating and then camping @ the orchard with Justin & Tracy

Still Have Time

>There is still time, they’ve extended the deadline, unfortunately this led to my sister’s business being without email for a half a day. I had sent her an email when renewal for her domain was coming up and she said “oh I’m just going to go with this free one” ok, sure… guess things aren’t going that well, go ahead and use the free site. Well, when it expired, sure enough I get a call “my email isn’t working”. Huh, yeah, didn’t think of the email aspect “If I told you email was included would that have changed your mind?…

The Digg section has left the building.

Digg did away with it’s inline blog publishing, they only support Twitter and Facebook now. Go fig… actually pulling away from the “real” web (in my opinion). I think it’s far too easy to rely on the sites which write your page for you. Short simple posts make it so easy just to type a thought and leave it hanging, never to be fully explored. Facebook won’t even be seen by anyone if they don’t check today, and in some cases within the hour depending on your group of friends. In any case I’ve adapted this space for music, makes…

Got an idea to pull in my twittering to the sidebar. I know it exists already but knd of looking forward to writing it myself. Javascript is like a baseball glove. My plan is to pull the whole page (unless there's an RSS) via javascript and then find the start tag of the twitted text and pull each consecutive line to a string until reaching the end tag. I could then adapt the script for a bunch of stuff.

Ruler of My Domain (Expiration)

Ugg – it’s always a drag when the ol domain registration expires.I swear I’ll just buy them all for the next 20 years! This won’t even post when I write it, says 48 hours but I’m hoping maybe by tomorrow?Apparently I’ve been expired since the 1st, probably took 48 hours for the change to take effect. I imagine the restration monkeys get a lot more volume now a days. In any case I’m going back to elaborate on the bullet points… .:step step step:. .:skoink:. .:spab bap spab bap:. // pssst (check below)—–v

I’m Board

So I took down my bulletin board. I guess I’m going to have to lock it up. Too many spammers, even with a image test and confirmation email. My next version will have super lock down. I am hoping it can be a sort of mixer place where people can post items they might not necessarily put on their website. Of course it would probably be that much less effort for someone to post it on their website. I can still wish to be the cool kid… I haven’t yet posted today’s links, they’re on the work machine, but here’s…

Zodiac Movie

Check out the Crime Scenes – Apparently a new movie about a series of murders in 1989. I like the idea of a modern movie taking place in a realistic time period. One that I can actually watch and recognize the time period while getting all nostalgic. I’m posting it because it’s a superbly done flash site, and a good example of what can be done with modern web authoring.
