Computer Land

Feeling Better
I wanted to note that I’m feeling pretty good now. A weekend of relaxing and eating did me wonders and I’ve been careful to posture properly at work to reduce undue need for a backeeotomy. GTA IV Performance

Michael Crichton Died Today
I was surprised to hear that Michael Crichton died today.He’s probably my favorite author, followed closely by Douglas Adams who died just a few years ago. NAB successfully purchases FCC
The latest FCC panel member has said Sirius needs to reserve 25% for “minority” programming for his approval. Why does it have to be minority? Why not public access?? Past Performance
I went back today and found some previous 3DMark06 Scores since I was finally able to get my 3DMark06 up and running. I still had my old VISTA x64 install on my extra HD (haven’t needed to reformat it for space yet) so I installed everything (didn’t work) and then copied over all the OpenAL32.dll to both system32 and syswow64 directories. I removed 3DMark06 and reinstalled from my Crosshair driver CD (w/ professsional SN) but when I went to submit it said a newer version was available. Make DVDs from a ragtag bunch of AVIs
I remember hearing someone who wanted this – you often have AVIs or other bits of movies scattered about your HD that you may want to preserve for posterity or give to your grandma for her new DVD player. That said – this allows you to create a DVD without any of those expensive “DVD Authoring” programs. Choose the AVIs you want to have on the DVD, and blam, it creates the necessary folders to burn direct to DVD.
