>Virtual Phases of the Moon – really neat little tool if you’re wondering what the moon would be like on a certain date from 1900-2100. I’m always happy when I find an interesting blog – check it out, lots of good links.

>Rachel took me out on Saturday — a bit of a pre-birthday celebration, we went out to Wayland MA for a play. It was a community theater, but in name only. The name of the play was: Picasso – Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein meet in a bar in France, 1903. Written by Steve Martin, and being of the absurdist genre… it was marvelous, and wonderfully apt for a person such as myself. I was enjoying the show, the random happenings, the silly conversations, and the intricate descriptions of man/woman relations when the words hit me like a slap. I…

>Gaming Find

>After an agonizing evening scrawling countless different gaming files sites, I am very excited to share this information: The All Seeing Eye – a multiplayer gaming tool better then gamespy, and geared towards MODs. FileShack – multiplayer gaming files, MODs, etc with no waiting, and wide open servers. Thanks to Justin for that tidbit. 😉 I stopped at my Mom’s today for a birthday dinner of sorts. She cooked one of my favorites: Salmon Wiggle. Sounds funny, but it’s some VT thing. She also got me something to open: Mr Clean carwash. I had already gotten it for my bithday,…

>The party was a hit. I had a blast — went downtown, played some pool and started the night with some cheap beers @ Fat Cat’s. It wasn’t all that great of a pool table, but it’s sort of a loft, away from the usual bar bustle. I think they even had a band, but we never went in to see them. That’s how Fat Cat’s usually is, everyone’s aware of the band but no one cares. After that we went to Alumni’s. I did my usual kareoke song: Black Crowes – Hard to Handle, and we did a little…

>Quite the uneventful birthday. I did work on the website a bit more… and get this — I’ve released it for beta. I know it’s not done, but it has continuity but I couldn’t wait to get it up and out there. I just need to add some meta tags and it’s ready to be Googled. From there it should take about a month or two, but for all those web-traversing robots: please go here. Finish Line GFX – my baby, one of many. Give it a shot, let me know how it works… this is probably the most javascript…

>So it did rain, no snowboarding for me — oh well, a day at home shall serve me swell. I mentioned “this whole thing with the planets” to someone the other day. They didn’t know what I was talking about, I still haven’t looked for it, but at least I knew it was happening. I mean: “C’mon. — Yeah, come on.” if this was 1000AD we’d all be sacrificing virgins to the sky. That’s something I’d like to see this evening if the weather clears up by nightfall. A Woman in Winnipeg A Cop in Des Moins, Iowa (Another?) Outlandish…

>Snowboarding

>Well — weather permitting tmw in VT, I will hopefully get one more day of snowboarding in. I’m going up with some friends, am trying out a new board… might buy it if it treats me well. It’s nice and all, a tad pricey for what I was looking for — especially with the lack of steady employment and all. Another website, system, or ebay sale and I should be all set… but there’s so much else I could do with that money. I’m not well… financially. Lack of work, continued rent and bills… it doesn’t look good. I worry…

>Friday’s the big day — celebration time. I put things together myself this time. I normally just pretend I don’t want to do anything, and secretly hope someone will do something. That’s so high school mopey man. I just want to be around friends, people who make me feel good. I’ve invited many, will be expecting few, but that’s alright. The ones who show are the truer of the few. I washed my car for the first time this season with a little help from Mr Clean. I’ve watched the commercials for months now, it finally made it to stores,…

>As I’m packing up my summer tires to be put on tomorrow, I realized something: Someone stole my hub key, the little special-shaped socket on my rims to prevent someone from yoinking them! My car was unlocked for an hour the other day, unarmed as well — I went to go to work and found my door slightly ajar, a few items out of place and the glove-box left open. Nothing had been touched other then the glove-box rifled through. My CDs (all CDRs) were intact, sunglasses still there, nothing missing all-in-all. I didn’t even notice the key was gone,…

>I went to go see Starsky & Hutch, and I must say… it was fantabulous, well done! 3 out of 4 stars! Snoop is the mac.

>Here’s an excellent video. (300k) “You’re no good for me… but you’re the only one I see.” …and a video from Chemical Brothers, lots of marshal arts and well-placed records, boomboxes, and turntables. Movies I want to see over the course of my birthday weekend: (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) Scooby Doo 2 Jersey Girl Ladykillers Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind The Whole Ten Yards Music: Sarah McLachlan – Afterglow Tori Amos – Tales of a Librarian Unfortunately there don’t seem to be any books that would interest me that I don’t already have in my possession. If that changes,…

>America’s Funniest Senators – jokes from some of the most attentive of our nations senate. Could you picture your dear old grandma doing this? There was supposed to be a big snow storm today, dammit. Oh well — at least I got some reading done. Subnetting is my mission, I shall overcome. Acronymns, commands, and routing protocols? Unknown are none! If I had a router, I’d name it Timmy: Router> enable Router# config t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Router(config)# hostname Timmy Timmy(config)# ^Z Timmy# This random rambling brought to you by redbull.

>Displaced By a Bull

>No one could believe there eyes when they got there. We’d been displaced by a mechanical bull. A local industrial night has been going on in Springfield for a month or two now. I’ve only been once before, but last night there was something different. It was already somewhat of a buzzkill walking into “The Salty Dog” for Construct. A local bar with chairs made of roughly hewn 2x4s, barrels on their ends as tables, metal nostalgia signs on the walls, a big safe, some old clawed chairs, and countless other nick-knacks adorning the walls – it’s not exactly the…

>I was browsing Orkut — It’s uber-interesting the people you’ll find on there. This one I found via the community “Robots With Lasers”: description: It is time to come to grips with reality: unless they are stopped, the future will be controlled by robots with lasers. This community is focused on planning for this eventuality: how to stop them, how to join them, or how to become them, and what strategy is most likely to result in the survival of mankind. category: Science & History created by: Nathan Folkert type: public created: Monday, February 02, 2004 size: 175 members I…

>The Code

>I’m really asking for it. I finished The DaVinci Code about an hour ago — and spent the remaining time looking at the website which pulled me in even further. There is a code hidden on the book jacket, and riddles given on the website. I’ve enlisted the help of a friend on this one, she’s read it too and with her beux particularly skilled at combing the net I hope to find an answer. I’ll list it here just in case — what enigmatic sculpture lies at: N 37 57 65 (or 6.5) W 77 8 44 I plugged…

>A Realization

>Oh man… what a couple of days. I had my wisdom tooth pulled on Friday. Just one, thankfully. I had a filling in it, which apparently weakened the tooth because a chunk broke off the side. So after a week of cutting my cheek to shreds I decided I might as well have it pulled. I don’t have insurance, and it seemed the cheap way to go. $80 isn’t so bad as however much it would cost for a filling that would probably just break again anyway. I don’t have enough room in my mouth for all the teeth as…

>So much to do — sickness got me again, sore throat of doom this time. Working on a new web site for a local sign shop. He does custom vinyl for cars, among other things — so going to get my ride outfitted to tout the wares 😉 I’ve been doing that, and trying to keep up the good work in CCNA – whew, it’s a lot of reading, but that’s the hard part. The jumping on the router and doing something — that’s the fun part. I did find a cool new little feature — check it out!

>I was inspired to update after reading this. I’m getting sick again, felt a tickle in my throat yesterday when I woke, and working 6pm to 11pm last night @ GAP didn’t help me any. We did stock the whole time, it was after they had closed for the night — and I won’t be doing that again. It was such hard work, stooping and folding… I felt like I belonged in a Calcutta sweat shop. I was absolutely dead. There’s a magic code if you’re in Wilbraham – 03903 for the lazer car wash, give it a try. Special…
