The advent of GPRS technology is upon us, it’s only 2.75 extra a month (1mb transfer, 40 cents each additional mb) for the data with Voicestream/T-Mobile. I was sucessfully able to dial up via iR from my laptop @ 9.6k, so it’s not required to use with a Palm or laptop.
