Has anyone heard of Chavs? Apparently Burberry is the new black... it looks as though they've mixed "HipHop"-style with "White" which I think Burberry is the epitome of.

Fashion designers are shying away from it, upscale stores are no longer selling it as older people now have an aversion to it with the surge of youth donning the fashionable pattern.

Also, apparently they're at war with the Goths.

Wow, I just got back from WCCC here in Hartford.
I was on the radio last night winning tickets.

I had to sing U2 -- I was the first, and only caller they needed =)
"You know, I don't think we need any more callers -- this guy's a star!"
They told me what I'd won -- tickets to Six Flags to see Monsters of Moc, a festival of sorts, all Metal cover bands. Metallica, U2, and some other ones. =]
Not a huge deal, but considering Six Flags costs like $40 now a days, it's a cool thang.

I was really surprised by the size of their station. It's just a house. An old two-story house, like what you'd find a dentist's office in. I believe the DJs now when they say they don't get paid much. It wasn't all that impressive, but hey -- whatever you're able to do. I didn't see any antennas or anything, so maybe they relay to another area. I know where it is now, they always have a bunch of free stuff for people to just stop by -- so I could at least get hockey tickets whenever I wanted ^-^

So not only did I get through on the first try, I won something, and I was on the radio singing!

Weekend's over, time to go back to the grind.

I've got some professional invoices now, finally got Quicken going.
I bought it last year to keep track of all the contractor jobs I was doing in order to make it easy for taxes. It didn't end up that way, I still walked in there with a shoebox full of receipts and walked out with a $550 bill. Granted, I got $1200 total -- not bad for being on unemployment, but I want to make sure everything's in order for this year, in addition to just knowing what I've got.

I've started making a little bit of money here and there now. Keeping track of everything in bills is a good way to know where you are, it's a wonder I didn't do it sooner ;) Well, I know why I didn't... but it's just easier now.
I have investments lined up too, for as soon as I make more money.
I'm planning on joining the Better Business Bureau, I have to get a licence for having a business out of my home in Holyoke, and once I have that I can get a business checking, which enables me to open an account with various wholesalers so I can start doing the resale instead of paying it. All of these things take money, and I'm only a little away from being able to do any given one of them.

It's much easier to do all this while having a full time job then without. I can easily earn money via the business and keep it separate, where before I using it for such superfluous things as, oh... I don't know... food?

I have kept at it, it's what I love, and enjoy doing what I'm doing, both job-ingly, and side job-ingly. Now just to keep in touch with friends and family. I've been quite selfish lately, not contacting anyone, and pretty soon it's going to take it's toll. I know I'll get to it, but when?

Wow.

I'm not so sure about CorkSport anymore. I loved them, and they really did move on it to get things out to me on time so that when I got back everything was ready. Money makes it all possible.

Unforunately I noticed an additional $275 on my Discover Card. I called today to find out what happened, did they charge me for the new routers thinking they'd credit me when they got the incorrect rotors back? Turns out no. $150 for shipping, plus an additional difference in price on the pads.

I did say overnight them, do whatever you have to do. I also said that to the mechanic causing him to buy the mazdaspeed parts from the dealership.

Well I said what I said because I wanted to get things done.
I ordered the wrong part. I was willing to pay for shipping, I expected to pay for shipping.
I just paid $50 to send the old parts back. I needed brake pads, I couldn't be without my car when I got back from vacation, so if CorkSport wasn't going to come through I needed a backup plan. That backup plan included returning the parts to the dealer. Unforunately they're special order.

So I'm paying $325 in shipping, and $170 for Mazdaspeed pads that are unreturnable.
CorkSport says they're not going to do anything on the shipping because I ordered it. The sales person took no responsbility, and I'm footing the bill.

So I need to get at least $225 on eBay for old Mazdaspeed rotors (50,000 miles) and brand new pads.
I wonder if I can do it. I'll try and slip the $50 shipping into it, that's normally how I take care of it - flat rate, don't bid if you don't want to pay it.

.:sigh:. and now my Discover is at it's limit, all because I wanted to be able to stop fast.

The car stops awesome, on a dime, it literally pitches forward - but I won't be ordering any modifications for a verry very long time.

    Yeah, I"m definitely not sure about them. I said "fix this, however"
    I was going on vacation and didn't want to bother with it. Well they charged me for overnight shipping, I had to pay to ship the old rotors back, and it still cost me for the mechanic.

    All in all $1200+ for an $800 job.
    They won't take blame, they won't suck up the cost. Screw them, I think it'll be a long time before I order anything else. They're not the end-all be-all, but they're close. I'll probably end up ordering from them sometime, unless someone's got an Alternative to CorkSport, a company that specializes in Mazda high performance parts.

Grrr... So as of 2007 we're changing daylight savings time. I knew they were thinking about it, but they just passed the bill.
Canada is all up in arms because in order to be as least confusing as possible (flight/train times, etc), they've got to go along with it... and for them that means kids going to school in the dark and they've got some other complaints too.

I just don't think it's really going to save anything. How about conserving some money so we don't have to go and change our daylight savings. I know I am objecting to change which I normally embrace, but this is just silly.

Got Google Earth yet?

Get it, then check out these links from my vacation (Google Earth format).


The gray areas are where they took the satellite data in the winter (less cloud cover) but they've pieced together all available info so it's a patchwork of sorts. MA did all their own, so it's really detailed (down to 3 meters!) VT is not so... but if you turn up the antriscopic filtering it'll at least blur it where it gets pixelated.
