I haven't updated in a while, last entry was from the day after Nicole's birthday. Since then I've gone snowboarding with Nicole up in Jeffersonville, VT at Smuggler's Notch. I've started working M-F, and will be taking over the position fully next Friday. I also had my birthday part last night. A lot has happened since.

It was a good time. It was a small collection, but a close one, and I was really glad it wasn't too large as I could simply have fun and not worry about being a host.

I've updated CGSystems.biz with some lessons in computer security, my HyperLINK program (with OpenSource licence), and a new sales model: prepaid gift certificates.
I also made things a little neater, activated some otherwise dead links, and integrated paypal referrals and credit card payments.
Here's a very interesting article and some neato freeware utilities.

What a long day. It's over soon-ish however. I've got about an hour and a half to go. Fark has been paroozled, and web pages corrected. I've still got some image editing to do for the CGSystems: Security page. It's still somewhat hard to see the links on the right side.
Nicole, Jenn, Matt & I all went out to Olive Garden on Friday night for Nicole's birthday. She was all excited, and though we weren't able to catch a movie after like we wanted, it was still a very pleasant evening. We got a bottle of wine, and some great conversation. I enjoy hanging out with Matt & Jenn, always good company.
We did get to catch a movie last night instead, though. It was going to be Hitch or Be Cool -- it ended up being Be Cool as Hitch had already started. I wasn't sure of it, it had that odd feeling to it, like they might be trying too hard. It was self-aware the entire time, and I saw the Rock's best performance to date. The characters were wonderfully colorful, with Andre doing an equally good job. There were cameos all over the place, after all it does take place in LA -- so they've got to have actors. Fred Durst was in the audience at the MTV Awards, Danny Devito got a big kiss from Pam Anderson or Anna Nicole... one of those big brested bitches :]~ Uma was immaculate, and Cedric was damn funny.
I'd give it a very good rating, but given how many people were in the theater, I don't think there's any buzz yet. If you enjoyed Get Shorty, it's similar, but different -- in much the same way that Snatch was similar to Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels. In other words, you can tell that they're made by the same people, director, whatever.
It's full of unscrupulous people, dialog rich with LA buzzwords, amusing situations, reactions, and characters.
I've never seen the Rock so gay, and it's wonderful. He was halarious.

K -- I just put all my pepsi co caps in a pile and I've got like 15. I'm dispensing with 7 this very evening.
I found a new favorite way to browse -- iTunes Essentials.
It's got many different catagories, and many different tracks contained there-in.
I've discovered I'm an Alterna-Pop type guy: I already had 90% of the tracks, and bought a few more out of that category.
A few other catagories of note:
Alternative Hip-Hop (no gangsta, here... well -- most of the time) ;)
Comedy (including Steve Martin, Monty Python)
Electronica 101
I'm posting all my recent iTunes purchases on the applicable sections of the music page, so it's actually worth taking another look at. You'll find the link... somewhere... it's one of the honeycombs.

Not like anyone reads me anymore anyhow ;)
Sure I post some interesting links here and there, but I never set out to do this thing for anyone else other then myself. Having other people read it, and eventually give their insight, was a bonus. I post for my own use, to keep track of the things I come accross... it seems now a days that you have to keep a blog going with constant publicity. Forum postings help, Orkut, various other social interaction. Much like real life. You need to keep in touch with people, be interested. "Interested is interesting." One must take an interest in others lives before they'll care what's going on in yours.
I've taken a step back from that, "been busy", when really I've been simply trying to get by.
Things will be easy-
er with the new job, but I don't start getting paid more for another month or so.
In the meanwhile I just blew through my 1st check this month, and will be catching up with the 2nd, only to have next month's check barely cover the big bills.
I blame the money, and it's partly that, but if things were going well, I'd feel better and want to do more. Having to hold up, and think if I can afford to go to the movies is new for me... I had 3 years where I didn't really have to worry. Now I very conciously have to think about what I want to do and when I can do it.
I want to go out and do things, be social, but it seems that requires money. I choose to stay home and buy a six pack, but soon that six pack turns to more when it's 10:30 and I'm out. I want things to be better -- now! I don't want to wait, things are looking up, how come they're not acting like it? .:sigh:. the "now" generation, the "me" generation. Gimme gimme gimme. =] I'll have to wait it out, it'll come... patience.

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with the page. I was very disappointed by the appearance of the site in Linux yesterday. I set up Justin's friend Jason with a Linux computer I had around. His laptop recently died, and he needed a machine to be able to browse the web, etc. It wasn't a veritable power-house or anything, but it can do the job, minus the broken cd-rom.
I took the easy way out (AGAIN!) and used GoLive (same version - old now, 5.0) to do the mouse-overs. I'm going to translate them all back to regular HTML eventually. Then there shouldn't be a problem with so many browsers. As it stands currently, only IE 5.0+ will view it correctly, as I've intended.
Straight code will do it, as opposed to rigmarole machine code, which GoLive generates. I can translate it easy enough, just have to take the time. So in the meanwhile the main page looks rather piece-meal.
I think I'll just make /honeybun/index.html into /index.html until I can get it fixed. I'll just apologize up-front to anyone who uses anything else (Firefox, Mozilla are mostly OK, just the whole show/hide thing uses a different command then IE) so instead of being sneaky and hiding the blog from the public, I'll have it shown by default. So much for cunning (less? luss?)

I spent today lounging around. I'm just getting past this cold thing. Not bad, not quite a week... and was never completely sick, caught it in time.
I'm currently watching UFC, waiting for Nicole to get out of class. After that we're headed to my Dad's to go play games with my niece Jamie, her boyfriend, and my great-niece Ashlyn will most likely be running around.
I just canceled my HBO / Cinemax preview, so it's either Discovery: America, Surprise by Design on DHDTV, or UFC. So in the interest of not leaving the soft nest of HDTV land, I'm watching men fight.
I still say it's fake, or it's certainly not as brutal as they make it out to be. They get a few good hits in, but they only let a few hits go on before they cut it and declare the winner. I'm not quite sure of the rules, but apparently you only have to go down to the mat.
