The usual conglomerate was there in addition to two of the (by far) most persnickety little ladies I've ever done seen. I don't give that title up lightly. Samantha earned it after countless requests of absurdity to which one of the housemates would happily oblige. That fed the fire. Amanda was actually fine, until Samantha threw a mini-hissi, then it was more and more requests, rude, and ever the more ridiculous they got. I wasn't putting up with it, but I didn't have to. Her requests kept being met. She wanted to go home, but since her friend was cuter -- he went out of his way to keep them both overly satisfied. They got ahold of the remote at one point and the shows consisted of "the weakest link", "cops", and that music video with Cheryl Crow and Kid Rock .:sigh:. It just about drove me batty. They then kept arguing about leaving, the cute one wanted to stay, the other one (even though she was the one who was now getting the most attention) wanted to go -- or 'said' she wanted to go. But persistent requests for them to stay lead to just that. The night was filled with an awkward scramble. Several people thought they had a chance, didn't want to over step their bounds so made sure things were clear before moving in. So various guys swooping in like vultures (very polite vultures concerned for her well-being and comfort) to be knocked aside by barriers put in place by others. People shifted sleeping areas, shuffling, and more chaos ensued when the girls started shouting back and forth again. It was mostly in jest, and I wondered if they did this often. They spoke of people like "Miguel, Juan, and Darian" very exotic names for the type of girls they were. It seemed like a big act, at the same time almost a plea for help -- and certainly a plea for attention. It was by far the most frustrating, interesting, funny, and awkward evening I've had in a while. I had fun with the guys, but when everyone started swooping, things got awkward. When everyone finally settled down to sleep about 5:30/6:00am... things calmed down. Unfortunately no one seemed to make out very well -- just as well, they certainly weren't worth the trouble, but when it's all or naught - I suppose one is obliged to work with the here and now. I was all set with that. posted @ 15:42 -x-

I just stayed home, played video games, drank some beers, and hung out with friends. My internet connection at home is kaput until I can get either a phone line re-activated at the house, or a cable modem of my own. Ken de-activated his phone, which means I can't sync the satellite. It's 2-way but it needs an initial dial up connection to get it going. No such luck now, and I think it's like $60 to get a phone installed. I don't want any more monthly bills! No more! Ken gave his notice - June 1st he should be out. I'm hoping to rent the smaller rooms out for $275 including utilities, and the big room upstairs for $300. That way no one has to worry about paying utilities, it's the same each month, and I day to collect vs 3 or 4 -- whenever the various bills arrive. I might have to ask for a little extra during the tough winter months. $400 a month for gas is not my idea of a good time - especially when you're just trying to keep warm! Some horny bastard ordered porn at 7am after my birthday party. I got the bill yesterday and there it was - a $12 charge for porn staring me right in the face. What's that?!! C'mon... I know that no one in the house would have ordered it - everyone is too resourceful for that. I've questioned a few people, but porn always has a way of just ordering itself - odd. COBOL doesn't seem to be going all that well -- struggling with the program I was on resulted in me finally finding what was wrong - only to find I had the tip of the iceberg. There was a whole bunch of calculating and if... then statements to do... which didn't want to work once I wrote them. I'm going to try and get in there early for short session with the professor, but I might just quit while I can, grab a W and take it next time. I've at least got a start in it -- I hate to waste the time, but if I'm getting a D so far... it's not worth the hit to my already weak GPA. If I don't find the magic lightbulb by tomorrow - as in I'm not able to get the concept and proceed with the other programs, I'll throw in my hat and sit out the remainder. I still want to finish the programs, that way I'll at least be ahead of the game when I take it again. My car's in the shop -- getting the vicious dent out of it!!! It wasn't my fault... no deductible, but he couldn't have hit me in a better spot, or a worse spot. It was right in the rear left quarter panel -- 4Runner scooted into my lane just a bit... *blam*! It wasn't too hard as we were coming up on a stop light - damn little guy couldn't even see over the steering wheel. .:sigh:. It was a bad place, but it wasn't all that severe, marginal scratching - small dent. My options were to either cut the piece out and weld a new piece over it... or pull out the dent and cover any recesses. Considering the structural integrity would be nil if I had them cut it, I chose to have it pulled. It should look just as good, and still retain it's rigidness. They're going to do all the measurements to ensure it's not out of alignment due to the impact, and they've got the special paint direct from the factory to make sure it all matches up - so we'll see what happens. I ought to have it back by Thursday. Commerce gave me a pretty good settlement - (they better, it's off of the other guy's insurance) - and they had a quick turn-around, about a week. Besides demanding an absurd amount of money from me to start my insurance policy -- they seem OK so far. So there's some stuff on my head, school's coming to an end. I've got a pretty good grapple on the other 2 classes, so I should be OK there. I just need to stay sane... things will slow down once I'm out of school - and maybe revert to some semblance of normality. I keep trying to gear things up with the computer biz, would be nice to have a little extra income... and it's something I enjoy doing. I especially enjoy setting someone up with their dream system -- really showing them the difference between a custom machine and the pre-fab crapshoots. I'm really looking forward to being right next to the park. It's so beautiful there in the summer. It's worth putting up with the winter months to get such beautiful summers. I think that's why everyone says how they're getting out of this place every winter, but end up sticking around indefinitly. They just can't stand to leave the summer and fall. Speaking of winter... it's supposed to be 72 here tomorrow -- then rain to sleet in the evening when it falls down to 30-40 degrees. Sheesh! posted @ 17:25 -x-
post://200123430/ So I got a call from my baby's mamma today -- Franna's my only baby. =] She's still with Keith, my friend from a year, year and a half ago. There's still a bit of a mystery surrounding that whole ordeal... but I am fine with him being convinced I'm a horrible person. I don't remember doing anything all that bad, maybe he just had a lot of things floating around in his head that he was too afraid to say. In any case, it was one thing too many and bam... he pushed me out of his life. Now that's just what I'm assuming. It's never been clear to me as to why, they seemed to think I should know (it was him and Andy who came to this determination). The only thing I can think of is regarding a female friend of Andy's, probably would have been a lot easier had I not gotten involved -- and maybe brought out jealousy? I'm not so sure that's enough to sever a friendship over... but I'd really just like to be able to visit with them without creating a negative inpact on their life. Which is of course the reason they have severed any ties with me. So I have sort of an issue created with my baby's momma coming to visit. She can't drive - he's still going out with her so he would be the one driving - "You're certainly not his favorite person.." ~ that was the exact quote. .:sigh:. as much as I hate not being someone's favorite person, I really don't care. I just wish it didn't involve such conflict. posted @ 17:45 -x-

I got in just in time to take it really quickly... and got what I got. I certainly earned the 65... just made me sad. He's insulting. Early on I tried really hard, attempted to answer his questions, but a few wrong answers, some humiliation in front of the class... and his not letting it go resulted in me losing ambition for class participation. I also attempted to ask him a question after last class regarding assignment 2 -- he said I was sitting on my butt. I never asked him my question. I just want to tell him to go to hell. post://200102184/ I stopped to visit Franna before work, I'd hoped to see the Dr, but he wasn't available. I'm not sure if they did in fact do the X-Ray or the Ultrasound yet, but they gave her some medication to stop the nausea and they've been giving her fluids. She was really alert and aware when I got there, almost wanted to jump out of the cage, but she relaxed and was much more up and about then yesterday. So she's certainly getting better, I'm hoping that she just needed something to be able to get back up on her feet again, start eating, and get some energy back to let her body heal. I was all prepared after seeing her yesterday, didn't think she'd be making it home. As long as she stays on track, she should be home soon! posted @ 15:15 -x-

I'll deal, I'll sleep later. I'm behind in COBOL, it's official. I'm going to hand in my half-done assignment 2 and see what happens. I'll be able to work on it after I've handed it in, then get him the finished copy ASAP. I'm hoping it'll at least buy me time. I can't take the test for assignments 1, 2, and 3 without even having handed in 3. I spent a long time today trying to gain some insight into 2 very beautiful ladies. I can't say they even had the remotest interest in me... but I wasn't going for that... and they seemed to talk like I wasn't even there - so it worked out. -+-+-+-+- One of my classes got out early today, so I was just bumming around. I grabbed a bite to eat and sat down at the only available table with a landscaper and a waitress. I knew this because "work" was their current topic of conversation. I took out my accounting book and "read" as I listened intently and munched on my burger. The girl wanted a job, the guy went on about how he did landscaping under the table for $9 an hour. - When it's hot out it's really hard - it drains the energy out of you. She would like a job as a waitress. Her old job would rake in $120-$140 a night, and most places she said are about $80, and at 2 nights a week... she needs that extra. A short while later the girls friend came over, having about 6 empty salt packets and very very salty fries. She made a face and got flushed when she took a bite and the guy asked "Salty?" It appeared that they were, she knew it... but they were fine. She munched on. She was very skinny, blonde, with a tan complexion. The other girl wasn't quite as attractive but both took very good care of themselves. The topic turned to relationships after the guy left - the girl said how he was very sweet, in one of her classes, and how he's always talking about his girlfriend with nothing but caring and affection. The fry-girl said he was one of her first high school crushes. I deduced they all knew each other from high school. Fry-girl was saying how she got up at 4am - was just thinking about stuff and couldn't get back to sleep. "I've just been stressin' about stuff" worrying in regards to school, not so much about guys... but it triggered a question to the fry-girl about the guy she went out with. She started by saying how the guys just don't 'seem to care' anymore. I think I missed some further explanation. - "He's gorgeous, 6'1", brown hair - it's good - we both said we're looking for about the same thing. We care about each other but neither of us are really looking for anything right now. So it's good that we both feel the same about it. She spoke of 3 or 4 guys - all really tall, muscular, and how this guy beats them all - goes to some college near Boston - and even impressed Amanda... and he's totally not Amanda's type. As I was wrapping up, the girl was talking about her assignment for English: - I need to write about "Fear Factor" and why it's compulsive, or addictive, or whatever... She was also going to include a "bio on the host" for a bonus. As I left I had to say something -- "I just can't believe they're assigning reality TV for English homework - doesn't seem right." She gave a look - like I insulted her. The fry-girl inquired further on my point -- the girl had chosen it as a topic... and off to class I went. posted @ 13:21 -x- |
