I’m blown away by this power, I can seamlessly integrate all my tiny little portals of interaction, bookmarking, favorites, and otherwise unconnected stuff and put it all right here.

I’ve got my twitter, my digg, my youtube favorites (I also have my user page but I pretty much post anything on here I figure is worth it) anything that I ever give a thumbs up to on the internet is here. I am still working on a way to add my scrolling links but it’s kind of impractical without a larger space to drop it. Since most of the links are at least 35+ characters to give an accurate description, it’s hard to design it in a way to both look good, and let you know what the hell it’s about. I’d kind of like to do something similar for the latest posts, like a rotating wheel of the latest… but it’s somewhat needless if I have them in the sidebar.

The sidebar is rather long as this point, and the RSS doesn’t match up, it still points to the old site which stopped listing items to the RSS as of about a year ago. I’m still looking for a way to import my various entries from 2002+ into the database for this site. That would allow a much further reaching look back into my growth into adulthood, and my general experiences as a modern human.

I’ve looked back on it a few times here and there, but never with the harsh self spotlight I once dreamed of, it’s still possible. It’s all there for the taking, even if I have to relist each entry separately, it would be worth it, as it’s all for posterity at this point. Once I have it in the DB I can export it to whatever format possible, though it still may be possible to import it the same way.

So the archives are at the bottom of the sidebar, and you can also grab each category, which is slightly more general then the tags. Overall I think of the categories as sections, things I’ll talk a lot about, and the tags as things I’ll probably mention a few times. In either case, either will get you the posts categorized or tagged as such. I really like this organization and power over where and how. I can’t believe I didn’t jump on board sooner. As it is I’m now getting into the web 2.0 world as it’s getting ready to jump to 3.0 but at least I’m in the mix. A lot has happened since HTML 3.0 and the advent of CSS, and I’m ready to start speaking the language.
